successful membership recruitment and retention campaigns

and negotiation skills and techniques

and maintain effective working relationships with other departments,
senior influencers, current and prospective members, affiliates,
volunteers and committees

To contribute to
the development of the Association’s strategic plans

To direct the
delivery of a program of membership development in accordance with
Associations strategic plan and following the guidelines established
by the Association

To contribute to
the formulation of Association’s policies, programs and procedures and
make recommendations for future development

To plan and direct
each stage of the membership development process:
-
The collection and interpretation of member and
non-member intelligence, including member needs, the member benefit
package, entry criteria and competitiveness using membership surveys
-
The recruitment of new members and affiliates
-
The orientation of new members and volunteers
-
The engagement and involvement of other members
-
The membership renewal process
-
To develop and
direct general marketing campaigns to promote the Association's
mission and purpose and ensure these are co-ordinated with recruitment
and retention activity

To direct the sale of association services
to non-members
-
To lead the work
of the department to insure an efficient and effective operation:

To recruit, induct, appraise and motivate the
department
-
To direct membership development training
programs
-
To promote team building through effective
communication and targeted training and development
-
To monitor and present reports on departmental
spend, income and membership levels
-
To ensure the membership information system is
accurate and meets the needs of the department and other users
-
To update the Chief Executive on the progress of
activities
-
To maintain regular contact with volunteer
committees, to provide them with support and assistance on activity
that relates to membership development and advise them about
policies, training and member benefits

To authorize purchase orders and re-imbursements
up to the value of £x

with Association policies and procedures
