Communicating the Real Value of Membership

How To Develop, Demonstrate & Deliver

A Compelling Membership Value Proposition

Price per delegate:

£295+ VAT

The latest 2011-12 Membership Benchmarking Report  revealed that a key current challenge for associations is to demonstrate value for money to members. A key question is how do you achieve this?

To help support associations with this extremely important task, this event will show you how to do this effectively.

For example, the day will help you develop a clear ‘value statement’. Your value statement expresses the prime reason why they should be a member. It clearly and concisely answers the questions why a prospective member should join and an existing member should renew. It helps you become the natural choice, helps you win over prospective members earlier in the recruitment process, helps you focus and stand out from the competition.

It will also cover:

  • Where is the real value of membership? (NB: Many of these are currently there, but not yet being promoted by associations – so offer great opportunities!!)
  • The nine step process for creating and delivering a compelling and attractive value proposition for prospective and existing members, including how to evaluate different value statement options
  • The key dimensions of a strong membership value proposition
  • The research that will lead you to understanding the key value you offer for members and uncover hidden value
  • How to demonstrate your value proposition
  • How to highlight and communicate value
  • How to align everyone in the organisation behind delivering this value.

Why attend?

  1. Understand best practice and the latest get practical tools to help you show value to members
  2. Every delegate will have the opportunity in the workshop sessions to build (or defend) value statements for their own association
  3. Stimulate and focus your association on what is important
  4. Network with other membership professionals and share issues, insights and knowledge
  5. Discuss value issues, share and exchange ideas at the workshop roundtable sessions – a great opportunity to build your network of contacts with others working in similar roles

Who should attend?

Anyone who is tasked with developing, explaining or demonstrating the value of membership to the community or sector, including senior executives and anyone working in membership, marketing, communications/PR, customer service and all other member facing roles.
